They are released under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike license.

You may:

• use the designs free of charge on as many websites as you like
• distribute them under the same or a similar license
• modify them
• share your modifications with others

But you may not:

• remove the visible and invisible credits from the download files (the backlink to this website).
• use the designs commercially: this means that you may not sell them but you can use them on a website where you sell or advertise your own products.

Foliage is excepted from the Creative Commons license. This theme is available for download at drupal.org and therefore licensed under the GPL.
Nevertheless it is appreciated if you keep the backlink on this theme.

Though the Creative Commons license gives a lot of freedom to use, modify and share the code this license might not work for all cases. There might be commercially oriented projects where the backlink is not desired.

Therefore we have developed a commercial exception from the Creative Commons license that offers more flexibility how to use the themes.

You do not have to pay for a commercial exception if you want to use the designs on a commercially oriented website. The only thing that you cannot do is to remove the footer link.

The cost is $10 per theme within a core version of a certain CMS.
What does this mean?

The current core versions are 6.x for Drupal and 2.x for Wordpress. The commercial exception is valid for all releases of one theme within a core version of a certain CMS. When - for example - a Drupal 7.x version of a theme is released in the future you must renew the license.

• You may use the theme without the backlink on all websites that you own and you may modify it for your own needs.
• But you may not distribute the files without the visible and invisible credits. If for example one of your clients wants to use the design without the footer link he must purchase a separate license exception.
• You may remove the license notice from your copy of the files.
• But you may not delete the invisible copyright notice from the files.
• You may not transfer the commercial exception to another person.
